For anyone who doesn’t know, I adore Grand Rapids, MI. It has been quite the experience getting to know the downtown area. The downside of spending time in Grand Rapids (shortened to GR), is you may or may not become a bit of a beer snob. Thankfully, GR is full of people who know all the technical terms to help you pick a beer for you. But GR is not all about beer; in the heart of downtown is the famous place to West Michiganders: The B.O.B..
The B.O.B. (Big Old Building) has 5 floors and a place for everyone, whether you want a nice lobster dinner (Gilly’s), or a relaxing dinner with friends (Bobarino’s), The B.O.B has everything you could think of. If you are hanging out at Bobarino’s make sure to say hi to an amazing, talented young woman, Taylor. Taylor seems to be made for this place; she is a fun loving, spirited, bubbly young woman, who is guaranteed to make you feel welcome.
The last time I visited Bobarino’s, I was served by another young woman, unfortunately I cannot remember her name, but she talked to my friend and I as if we had been friends for years. The bartender had accidentally poured the wrong shot, so she quickly resolved it (under 30 seconds). It was a slow night, and so we chatted away with her. She is an example one of the many reasons why I love going to the B.O.B.; every time you walk in, it feels like you are visiting friends.
The B.O.B. is conveniently located on Fulton St. and Monroe Avenue. It is within walking distance the Van Andel Arena, where you catch a great concert or watch the Grand Rapids Griffins.
